This rare absolutely lovely, sacred heavily carved early 1800's Church Bishop's Bench, ,,,gorgeously handcarved oak or mahogany ,,,with 2 separated seats, carved wooden division,,,,different religious scenes carved on the back of each seat with a corresponding religious sayings on the lifted seat of each.... the following 6 main carvings.....#1.....beautiful figural carving "Jesus healing man". on the back of first seat...#2......beautiful figural carving " Jesus and Saint John the Baptist"Both seats lift up for standing or kneeling, revealing the carved sayings are seen when seats are lifted...carved saying #3......The first seat carving on the left.... ... 'Though Standest by Faith"..carved saying #4......The second seat....with the saying "I Am the Bread of Life".carved saying #5 On the top middle centered...the date MDCCXII (1712) in roman numerals and carving #6 the saying carved,....."Blessed is the Man Who Endureth Temptation".other carved details.. ornamental on sides, front and bottom of bench...This two person Bench is from the early 1800"s and is made either out of oak or mahogany...most probably oak,Great condition....some natural wear from use on the front seat tops..as seen in photos.-Height..53 and 1/2 inches high from the floor to the top of back....-Height floor to top of seat... 21 inches from the floor to the top of the seat-61 and 1/2 inches wide total-17 inches in depth-Each seat .. seating space is 14 inches wide and 14 inches deep....Stunning,,,A most rare historical, religious, functional,,work of art......one of a kind furniture for a church or for your home,chapel n your home, church or rectory.Bench is as described and as seen in photos.Shipping by freight varies by Location.Arrangements can be made for pickup ...if you have your own truck or freight company.Shipping is by Freight....Message me before purchase on ebay with any questions and for quote your city and state.For International freight shipping....message me before purchase for a shipping quote to your city and country.Local pickup available by appointment...Thanks
